Nvidia is discussing a larger investment in Reflection AI, or a deal to supply the startup with computing power, Bloomberg reported on 10 October. Nothing is agreed. Nvidia did not reply at once to a request for comment, and Reflection declined to comment. The report rests on one person familiar with the matter, who described the talks as early and said no terms have been reached. The person is unnamed because the subject is confidential.
An open-weight developer matters to a chipmaker because anyone can download and run its models, and running them takes a great deal of GPU capacity. Bloomberg frames the talks as a way for Nvidia to get closer to a key developer in that field. Reflection, for its part, recently announced a model called Beam, with its weights promised for later in October.
The Financial Times has separately reported talks about an acquisition. Bloomberg’s account says no such thing; it describes only more investment or more compute.
Until a second source or a company statement appears, this is a single unnamed voice and no figures, and it is worth treating that way.
