Anthropic’s Mythos web page now mentions “Claude Mythos 5.5,” and the company has said nothing about it. TestingCatalog reported the sighting on 1 November, quoting the page as calling it “Our most capable model class for cybersecurity and biology research.” Only the version number looks new. No specifications or announcement came with it.
The poster AiBattle says the mention is missing from an October 23 snapshot of the page, so it appeared recently. TestingCatalog also points to unconfirmed reports that Anthropic is trialling newer Claude Fable 5.5 checkpoints on a few users. The praise so far is anecdotal, and no public benchmarks back it up.
Guesses that a launch lands next week come from people watching the site, not from Anthropic. Past practice suggests a narrow start: Mythos 5.1 went to vetted security and life sciences researchers. Fable 5.1 ran the same model with extra safeguards for everyone else. Anthropic filed for a Nasdaq listing on October 26, so investors would notice a release before the debut.
Security teams wanting early access should look at the Cyber Verification Program, the route Anthropic has used for Mythos.
