Pipedrive AI Review: A Good CRM With Modest AI

Pipedrive AI is worth it if you already want Pipedrive’s pipeline CRM and treat the AI as a bonus riding on a €14–€79 per-seat plan (verified Aug 12, 2026). Skip it if you’re buying primarily for the AI: the one genuinely agentic feature, Nova, is still an opt-in beta, and the rest is email drafting, email summaries and prompt-driven reports.

This Pipedrive AI review is consensus-scored and document-verified, not first-hand-tested. We verified every price and feature-tier claim on Pipedrive’s own pricing, AI-CRM, Sales Assistant and beta pages on August 12, 2026, read four Pipedrive threads on Reddit comment by comment, and pulled four rivals’ pricing the same day. Where we haven’t run the product ourselves, we say so and flag the screenshot we owe you.

Our verdict: 6.5 / 10. Updated August 2026.

The verdict box

Rating6.5 / 10. The CRM underneath scores higher than the AI on top of it.
One-line verdictA competent pipeline CRM with convenience AI bolted on; the agentic part is still an opt-in beta.
Price€14 / €39 / €59 / €79 per seat per month, billed annually, VAT excl. (verified Aug 12, 2026). No free plan.
Best forSmall B2B sales teams already sold on Pipedrive’s pipeline, who want report prompts and email drafting without changing CRM.
ANTI-PICKDo not buy Pipedrive because of the AI. Skip it if you want an AI-native CRM (buy Attio or folk), if you need marketing and sales on one platform (HubSpot), if you model anything beyond deals and organizations (Salesforce or Zoho), or if fast human support is a hard requirement.

Is Pipedrive AI worth it?

The CRM is good. The AI stamped on top of it is not the reason to buy, and Pipedrive’s own pages are the evidence.

Start with the part that works. Pipedrive carries a 4.3 from roughly 3,100 G2 reviews and a 4.4 from about 3,400 on Trustpilot (both read from Google’s rendered rating snippets on Aug 12, 2026; Trustpilot’s page blocked our fetch twice, so treat the counts as approximate). On Reddit, u/Firefly_Consulting, who has been implementing CRMs since 2013, wrote that he has “chosen Pipedrive almost every time for small- to medium-sized businesses with an annual turnover of $500,000+.” (r/CRM, Nov 2025) We score the CRM itself 7.5 in our AI CRM hub. The 6.5 on this page is the score for the AI, which is a different product decision.

Here’s the gap. What Pipedrive markets as “Pipedrive AI” is convenience tooling, not autonomy. Its own AI-CRM page lists a short, specific set: sales reports generated from a text prompt, an AI email generator, an AI email summarizer marked BETA, smart app recommendations, and natural-language search for its app marketplace. One of those helps you find third-party apps to buy.

Useful. Not what the phrase “AI CRM” makes people picture.

A Redditor answering someone shopping for exactly this put it best: “most of the useful AI stuff right now is basically: reading notes/emails, summarizing deals, suggesting updates, drafting replies. you don’t really need a full ‘AI native CRM’ for that.” (r/CRMSoftware, Mar 2026) Pipedrive’s AI sits inside that description, which is both its defence and its ceiling.

Then look at how that thread ended. The person asking was an ex-Pipedrive user who wanted an AI agent he could talk to and complained that “you have to pay too much just to sync your emails.” He came back later to say he had switched to folk. That is this entire review compressed into one thread.

Pipedrive AI pricing (verified August 12, 2026)

There is no free plan. Every AI feature rides a paid seat, and the email AI most buyers want is gated two tiers up.

PlanPrice (verified Aug 12, 2026)Best forWhat AI you actually get
Lite€14 / seat / mo (€168 / yr)Solo sellers, 2–3 person teamsAI report creation from a text prompt; smart app recommendations; AI marketplace search
Growth€39 / seat / mo (€468 / yr)Small teams running sequencesLite, plus full email sync and the automations AI hangs off
Premium€59 / seat / mo (€708 / yr)The AI buyer’s real entry pointAI-powered multi-email tools: write, summarize and reply to emails with AI, plus lead routing and custom scoring
Ultimate€79 / seat / mo (€948 / yr)Orgs needing security controlsEverything above, plus phone and email data enrichment and a sandbox account

Three things the table doesn’t say out loud.

Those prices assume annual billing. The page advertises “Save up to 42%” for committing to a year, so month-to-month costs materially more, but the monthly figures sit behind a toggle that never rendered in our fetches and we won’t print a number we didn’t see. Prices are VAT-exclusive for EU buyers, and Pipedrive served us euros on every attempt, including a fetch forced to a US locale.

The AI you probably want, writing and summarizing email, starts at Premium. On a five-person team that’s €3,540 a year before add-ons.

And the add-ons are real money: LeadBooster from €32.50, Web Visitors from €41, Smart Docs from €32.50, Projects from €16, Campaigns from €13.33 (all verified Aug 12, 2026, all monthly). A Redditor’s complaint that with Pipedrive “you always pay more stuff you don’t need and are made to pay more for things that should be basic” [sic] is a fair reading of that menu — though the same comment pitches Nutshell two lines later, so weight it as a competitor’s framing of a real structure (r/CRMSoftware). Every plan gets a 14-day trial, no credit card.

What Pipedrive AI does well

Report generation a non-analyst can use. ✔️ Ask for a report in plain language inside Insights and you get one, with no field-picker archaeology. It ships on Lite, the €14 tier, which is unusual generosity in a category that normally reserves AI for the top plan. Zoho puts its Zia assistant on Enterprise (verified Aug 12, 2026).

✔️ The Sales Assistant predicts a deal’s win probability, recommends the next best action, and flags deals with no scheduled activity (verified on Pipedrive’s Sales Assistant page, Aug 12, 2026). Modest feature, modestly described, and it’s the nudge that stops pipelines rotting.

✔️ It also didn’t break what people already liked. The most repeated praise across every thread we read is speed of adoption, and the freshest instance is a month old: an implementer moving SMB clients off Salesforce wrote that “reps who fought SF for months were fully productive in Pipedrive within a week or two max.” (r/CRM, Jul 2026) Pipedrive bolted AI on without turning a simple product into a complicated one.

Nova is the feature that would change this score, and it is close enough to be frustrating. Pipedrive’s beta page describes it as a feature that “gets you ready before every meeting, captures key decisions and next steps as the conversation happens, and automatically creates follow-ups and CRM updates for review afterward” (verified Aug 12, 2026).

Now the part a normal review would leave out. The entire public user record for Nova, as of today, is one r/pipedrive thread posted on July 21, 2026, carrying four upvotes and exactly one reply: “It’s becoming at par with Attio.” (r/pipedrive) That reply comes from a user who recommends Pipedrive across r/CRM regularly, and who elsewhere posts self-disclosed affiliate links for folk and Attio. We are not calling it dishonest — he labelled the links himself. We are saying that one sentence from a partially commercial commenter is the whole evidence base, and it cannot move a rating.

There’s also an open pipe to whatever assistant you already pay for. Pipedrive ships an MCP server and a documented API (both linked from its own footer, verified Aug 12, 2026), so Claude or ChatGPT can read your pipeline without Pipedrive’s own assistant being brilliant.

Where Pipedrive AI falls short

The headline feature is a beta you have to opt into. ❌ Nova is not generally available. It sits behind a company-wide opt-in only account-settings admins can enable, under a disclaimer that beta releases “are experimental, subject to change and may be discontinued based on feedback” (verified Aug 12, 2026). Buying Pipedrive today for Nova means buying a maybe. AI email summarization and suggested replies sit on that same beta list, which is awkward, because summarization is already advertised on the public AI-CRM page as though it shipped.

Support is the loudest complaint in the room, and a bot made it worse. ❌ We weight this criticism highest because it recurs across years and subreddits and it has not gone away. A three-year customer wrote that chat responses now take “hours sometimes 4-12 hours,” and that the chatbot “like vast majority, is woefully inadequate.” Another described the product as “a ghost ship. There is ZERO development and seemingly zero support… their automations wouldn’t be considered advanced in 1999.” A third said Pipedrive is “basically JUST sales focused and the customer service is horrendous.” The ghost-ship commenter came back eight months later, still a customer: “Their insights have not been working properly for weeks. We contacted support, they opened a ticket, but the ‘engineers haven’t gotten around to it yet.’” (r/pipedrive, r/CRM) A vendor that answers you with a bot while selling you AI is inviting this exact review.

❌ There are no custom objects, and reporting hits that wall hard. Anything that isn’t a person, organization, deal or product gets crammed into a data field. One implementer building an eight-market rollout described holding a parent company and its two national subsidiaries as three organizations, because there was nowhere else to put them, and warned that reporting then binds to a field somebody has to keep correct rather than to a record ID. Another said clients “end up piping data out to Google Sheets or even Looker Studio or PowerBi for anything more custom.” (r/CRM) AI report generation is a good front end on a schema that can only describe four shapes.

❌ There’s no free tier, and the AI most people mean starts at €59. Attio, folk, HubSpot and Zoho all have a free or near-free entry point. Pipedrive has a fortnight.

Astroturf watch. ❌ The r/pipedrive thread titled “My 4-Month Review of Pipedrive” (August 2024, 13 points, 23 comments) is a glowing writeup that closes with a link to aff.trypipedrive.com. A commenter beneath it calls it “the paid advertisement that started this chat” before explaining why he went back to Salesforce. We link the thread anyway, because the replies are where the honest material lives. Weight the comments, not the post.

Who should skip Pipedrive AI

Skip it if the AI is your reason for buying. Some CRMs make intelligence the architecture rather than a feature row; pay for that instead.

Skip it if you need marketing, sales and service on one platform. Pipedrive is a sales tool with add-ons; HubSpot is a platform with a sales product. The cleanest framing of that trade came from a commenter wearing a HubSpot user flair, which is exactly why we’re telling you who said it: “SFDC is over complicated, Pipedrive is overly simplistic. HubSpot is a better in between.” (r/CRM) Discount it for the flair. It still lands.

Skip it if you model anything beyond deals and organizations. In that same thread a real-estate firm wanted a properties module and couldn’t have one; a European operator ended up filing a parent company and its two national subsidiaries as three separate organizations. The custom-object gap will find you by month three.

And skip it if you open a support chat expecting a human inside the hour. That is the most consistent negative in the user record, and no roadmap feature fixes it.

Skip-it lines, because a table without them is a brochure:

  • Skip Attio if your team is non-technical and wants an opinionated pipeline handed to them. Its power is that you build the model, and that’s also the work. Full breakdown in our Attio review.
  • Skip folk if you run a structured multi-stage B2B pipeline with forecasting. It’s a relationship CRM that grew deals, not the reverse. See the folk review.
  • Skip HubSpot if the quote lands on Professional. The €90 seat is the smaller number: Professional carries a required one-time onboarding fee of €1,470 (€3,420 on Enterprise), so a single seat’s first year is €1,080 of licence and €1,470 of mandatory setup. Verified on HubSpot’s own pricing page, Aug 12, 2026.
  • Skip Zoho if you want the AI assistant without the enterprise invoice. Zia sits on the Enterprise edition, three tiers up from free, confirmed on Zoho’s own feature list the same day.
  • The free tier wins more often than these vendors would like. Two people with forty open deals will be fine on Attio Free or HubSpot Free for a year.

How we scored this Pipedrive AI review

We hold no product in this category, take no placement money, and run no affiliate links in drafts.

Here is the actual work behind the 6.5. We verified Pipedrive’s four plan prices, five add-on prices and per-tier AI features on its own pricing page; read the AI-CRM, Sales Assistant and beta pages end to end; pulled Attio’s, folk’s, HubSpot’s and Zoho’s pricing the same day; and read four Pipedrive threads on Reddit comment by comment. Two of those carried commercial interest — one post ends in a Pipedrive affiliate link, and the sole Nova endorsement comes from a commenter who posts affiliate links for two rivals. We disclosed both rather than quoting either as consensus, and the score reflects how thin the Nova evidence is once you do that.

What we have not done is operate a paid account or run Nova on a live call. No screenshot on this page is ours yet; the ones we owe you are listed in the frontmatter and marked in the text. Method: how we test AI tools. Rules: our independence charter.

Bottom line

Buy Pipedrive for the pipeline. Tolerate the AI.

That isn’t an insult. A CRM reps voluntarily update is worth more than an AI that writes emails nobody sends. But the 2026 pitch is “Now with AI” stamped on all four plans, and behind the stamp sit report prompts, email drafting, a summarizer still in beta, and an agent you have to volunteer for. If Nova ships properly, this page gets rewritten upward. Until then the honest score is 6.5, and nobody should switch CRMs for a feature list that mostly reads “powered by OpenAI.”

The best AI in your CRM is still the one that stops you forgetting to follow up. Pipedrive has had that since before anyone called it AI.

FAQ

Is Pipedrive AI worth it?

Worth it if you already want Pipedrive’s pipeline CRM, since the AI report generator ships on the €14 Lite plan, which is cheap for what it does. Not worth switching for. The email-writing AI starts at €59 per seat, and the genuinely agentic feature, Nova, was still an opt-in beta in August 2026.

How much does Pipedrive AI cost?

There’s no separate AI price. Pipedrive charges €14 (Lite), €39 (Growth), €59 (Premium) and €79 (Ultimate) per seat per month billed annually, VAT excluded, all verified August 12, 2026. AI report creation and marketplace search are on every plan; AI email writing and summarizing start at Premium. There’s no free tier, only a 14-day trial.

What are the best Pipedrive AI alternatives?

Attio if you want AI agents inside the data model, free for three seats and €74 per seat on Pro. folk at $24 per member if you sell through relationships. HubSpot Sales Hub if marketing and sales must share a platform, though Professional carries a required €1,470 onboarding fee. All prices verified August 12, 2026.

Changelog

  • 2026-08-12 — QA pass, same day as creation, and it changed the page. Every vendor page was re-fetched independently: Pipedrive’s four tiers, five add-ons, annual totals, VAT line and 14-day trial all hold, as do the per-tier AI features and the Nova beta disclaimer. All four Reddit threads were re-read comment by comment, which produced three quote-integrity fixes and one substantive finding. A price complaint was being quoted with a word silently inserted into it; it is now verbatim with a [sic], and the fact that the same commenter pitches a competitor two lines down is disclosed. The “SFDC is over complicated” quote turned out to come from a commenter wearing a HubSpot flair, now stated in the text. The Nova endorsement — previously presented as a Pipedrive advocate’s verdict — comes from a user who posts self-disclosed affiliate links for folk and Attio, and it sits on a four-point thread with one reply; the page now says all of that and treats it as evidence too thin to move a rating. A support complaint was strengthened with a verified follow-up showing the problem was still live eight months after the original post. “Vehicles” was removed as an example of an unsupported custom object because no source said it; two real examples from the threads replaced it. Zoho’s row no longer says “(verify)” — its rupee-denominated tiers are recorded, and Zia-at-Enterprise was reconfirmed on Zoho’s own feature list. HubSpot’s onboarding fee is now expressed as year-one arithmetic rather than “half the bill”. The G2 “#6 ranking” entry in factsToReverify was rewritten: it described a claim as being on the page when it never was. Word count, an H2 missing the primary keyword, and the meta description were corrected. The rating gap against our AI CRM hub (7.5 for the CRM, 6.5 for the AI) is now explained on the page instead of sitting there as a silent contradiction.
