Heavy iterators, likewise. Roleplay, meditation audio, tone experiments: many generations per finished minute is exactly the pattern the meter punishes hardest.

Teams who need one voice, forever. A per-character API or a self-hosted model does that job for a fraction. The quality gap is real. Whether it’s worth 10× is your call, and it gets harder to justify every month the open models improve.
