Google added shareable Projects to Gemini for Business on May 28, Testing Catalog reported. Projects are dedicated team workspaces with persistent context, shared file access, and multi-surface collaboration: team members can work inside the same Project across Workspace integrations (Docs, Slides, Sheets) and the standalone Gemini interface.

The feature directly addresses a gap ChatGPT Teams identified first: enterprise users want collaborative context, not isolated individual chats. A finance team building a quarterly forecast wants the model to remember the assumptions, source files, and prior decisions across team members and across sessions. Google’s Projects implementation extends this to the Workspace surface, which is Google’s structural advantage over OpenAI: every team using Gemini for Business is also using Google Docs and Sheets, and Projects collapses the boundary between those surfaces.

The rollout is to Gemini for Business subscribers, the enterprise paid tier. For teams already on the SKU, the feature lands automatically; no separate procurement step required.
