Exa, the search provider that serves AI programs rather than people, says its new Exa 3.0 ranks first on every test it ran. The company published no score to back that up. Its blog post names company intelligence, deep research, finance and coding as the areas where it leads, but it names no rival and gives no number. Exa chose the tests and graded itself.
The checkable parts are the price and the index. A cheaper tier, Exa Lite, costs $4 for every thousand requests, against $7 for the standard Exa Auto tier, which spends more computing effort per search to improve quality. Exa says it runs its own crawler, tracks over 2 trillion web addresses and serves 100 billion pages. New listings include 1.27 billion products with prices and availability, and more than 211 million local businesses with hours and ratings.
Exa also says its upgraded highlights send AI programs 95 percent less text than handing over whole pages. The comparison is to full pages, not to a competitor.
Before switching providers, run your own queries against both price tiers.
